Apple Mac Support
We offer support on all Apple Macs!
Today, anything with an Apple badge is very cool and even aspirational. As a result, usage is on the increase but many people are put off by limited support options for their shiny new Apple Mac, iPad or iPhone. That’s where we come in. We use Macs and iPhones ourselves so are perfectly placed to advise and support on all things Apple. Drawing on our experience with existing clients, you’re in safe hands with us.
Are you thinking of moving to Macs?
So you want to benefit from the superior Apple build quality and streamlined good looks, perhaps you want to use the iLife or iWork suites or you just plain want one. But which Mac should you be considering – we can advise you on the benefits of the whole range from the Mac Mini, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro or iMac to the heavy duty Mac Pro. We can supply all these models to you as well. But what about actually using MacOS, moving all your data to it, using your existing printers or sharing files with existing Windows PCs. This can be daunting and complex, but we can help you through it.
How do you secure your Macs?
It is a commonly held belief that Macs are immune to viruses and malicious software. This is not the case. Whilst it is true that MacOS is not as attacked as Windows, you can’t afford to ignore anti-virus, a firewall or anti-spyware security. We can advise on how to make your Macs safe and how to setup an effective backup strategy. Take a look at our computer security tips page for some handy ideas straight away.
Do you need or do you already have a Mac server?
Do you want some central storage for all your Macs to share files or printers? Ensuring that all your Macs can login to your server can be a tricky business, but we can help you sort it out. Perhaps you’d like your Mac server to handle your organisation’s email. We can advise on the products available and help you get things setup.
What software can you use on the Mac?
When the Mac was first launched, it looked great but couldn’t actually do very much. Today, there is an impressive selection of applications available for the platform. Big names such as Microsoft Office (in a slightly different form to Windows) and the Adobe Creative Suite (which is functionally identical to the Windows equivalent) are now available. Even the free OpenOffice can now be run on the Mac. Let us help you select the right products for you and get them installed and configured for your needs.
What if you need to run Windows applications?
Now that Apple use Intel hardware inside the Mac, it can run Windows and therefore Windows applications. So you don’t need to re-purchase your applications or even give them up by moving to the Mac. Let us fully integrate your Windows applications seamlessly into MacOS so you can continue doing what you need to do.
Do you need help with your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch?
We have extensive experience of Apple’s engaging and fun iOS devices and we can advise you on what Apps are available and the best way to integrate these devices into your environment, whether you use Windows PCs or Macs. We use iPhones ourselves and have supplied iPads to clients in challenging environments.
Are you looking for a previously-loved Mac or have an older one you’d like rejuvenated?
We refurbish Intel-based Macs to the highest standards using the best quality parts available with a great attention to detail. We usually have a few in stock so check with us if you’re looking for a pre-owned Mac. If you’re looking for something specific we may be able to source something that meets your needs. If you have an older Intel-based Mac that needs some repair or upgrading, please get in touch and we can cost-up a refurbishment for you.

As a freelance journalist and copy editor, I work from home with no IT department to call on, so I was delighted to find a friendly local Mac expert. Westward IT’s help has been invaluable and I am glad to recommend the company to all other Devon Mac users.
